The Kelab Alami Nature & Heritage Centre was returned to the Port of Tanjung Pelepas (PTP) in August 2025, when PTP commenced development of the entire coastal stretch from Kampung Pekajang to Tanjung Kupang for its Free Zone. All furniture and fixtures were redistributed to local nelayan (and upcycled for use at the jetty, rakit, and warung), SMK Tanjung Adang, and other village residents.
Kelab Alami had previously received a site refurbishment grant from IRDA Kawan Iskandar Malaysia. Through this grant and the collective efforts of the fisher community, an abandoned building—formerly an engine oil factory—in Kampung Tanjung Kupang was transformed into the Kelab Alami Nature & Heritage Centre (KANHC). Following the closure of KANHC, Kelab Alami Mukim Tanjung Kupang now operates from Pangkalan Sungai Che Manan (Jeti Pak Ngah). For navigation, google: myKP Pendekar Laut. Kelab Alami’s co-founder, Dr. Serina Rahman, trained the entire Shattuck-St. Mary's Forest City International School (SSM-FC) community so that citizen science became a key pillar of the school’s educational approach. Students and staff participated in documenting and monitoring the wilding of Forest City Island and, in collaboration with the Forest City developer, contributed to the content of the island’s Eco-Museum. Together, they held mangrove planting and monitoring events, beach clean-ups, and species identification activities. This effort genuinely involved Forest City residents in the Mukim Tanjung Kupang community, as everyone worked together to monitor and protect the natural and newly wilded habitats. In June 2024, SSM ended its association with Forest City.
