Kelab Alami conducts valid, supervised, and reviewed scientific research on local habitats and cultural heritage. These studies are initiated and implemented by the local community, tapping on local expertise and traditional science to validate scientific hypotheses. Past studies include:

- Connections by Sea: Former Singapore Southern Islanders in Mukim Tg Kupang (presented in a variety of forms: art exhibitions at Yale-NUS and the Donkey Mill Arts Centre, Hawaii; short film at International Forum on Maritime Spice Trading Routes and Cultural Encounters in Indo-Pacific, Bandung, Indonesia and in a podcast by Prof James Jack, formerly of Yale-NUS, Singapore.)
